Unfortunately, we do not. GLT prefers to focus on it's Original Intention. Providing Enjoyable Tours, On Purpose, For a Purpose. Sharing and Teaching the many great things this Land has offered here for centuries, if not millennia. And simply put, there are several companies in the area well equipped and designed to take you down the river.
Although I am an Animal Lover, we cannot allow pets on tours. I realize that all pet owners (which I have been myself) loves their animal(s), and believes that their animal(s) would never have an accident, however, it had just not been the case 3 different times. However, here are
The reasons:
1- The National Park (Big Bend) does not allow pets of any kind on trails; A- because they can be attacked by the wild-life, and B- unfortunately, some do not clean up after their animals, leaving trails with virtual land-mines on them, that aren't from the wild-life itself.
2- Unfortunately, after 3 different accidents in the vehicle, the last of which caused GLT to have to cancel a tour, travel quite far (over 300 miles round trip) for the cleaning, which cost quite a bit to clean and remove the smell. GLT had to do this because we could not get rid of that stain and smell, and there was no-one local to do this either.
Because of these reasons, this has been the rule since early 2022.
Thanks for understanding.
This is used when there are more people than the Tour Vehicle can hold; An H3 Hummer's Max capacity is 4 plus the guide. When this is the case, then GLT has a guide meet with you and go with you in your vehicle. Many companies will use it for Bus Tours and such. GLT will do this for any group over 4. Sometimes (if requested), GLT will use it's own vehicle, and the other vehicle follows. Usually this would be used for up to 8 people total. The trip still makes all the stops, can do hikes together, and shares with the whole group. Price varies.
